The Philippines on Saturday hit its highest daily number of Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began after recording 19,441 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 1, 935,700.
There were also 19,191 recoveries and 167 deaths logged.
Of the total number of infections, 7.4 percent (142,679) are active, 90.9 percent, (1,760,013) have recovered, 1.71 percent (33,008) have died.
The Department of Health said that 202 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 191 are recoveries.
Moreover, 76 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
All laboratories were operational on August 26, 2021 but 3 labs were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.
Based on data in the last 14 days, the 3 non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 1.3 percent of samples tested and 0.2 percent of positive individuals.
