The PRC’s Molecular Testing Laboratory for COVID-19 cases in Km. 8, Brgy. Bonifacio, Surigao City will soon be operational this November 2020.
The facility is situated in a vacant lot owned by Surigao State College of Technology and was put up with the support from Taganito HPAL Nickel Corporation and Nickel Asia Corporation’s realignment of their SDMP amounting to 18 million pesos.
Once operational, it can process up to 2,000 RT-PCR tests per day. The machines and other equipment will be arriving this week. According to Philippine Red Cross Surigao del Norte Chapter Administrator Marilou E. Talingting, it is expected to operate maybe by second or third week of November.
