THE Philippine Football Federation (PFF) announced on Thursday a sponsorship deal with Adidas for the FIFA Women’s World Cup-bound national women’s team.

PFF Secretary-General Atty. Ed Gastanes made the announcement in a sendoff press conference for the Filipinas who took a flight later in the day for San Pedro del Pinatar in Spain where they start their World Cup preparation in the  Pinatar Cup.

Gastanes thanked Adidas Philippines General Manager Anthony Frangos for sponsoring the Filipinas’ national team kit prior and during their World Cup campaign in Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20.

“It’s a big help for our women’s team program and to the federation for having Adidas as our sponsor-partner heading into this momentous occasion,” Gastanes told the news conference at the New World Makati. “They will be here in the long haul to also sponsor our 17-under women’s team.”

Frangos said the partnership with PFF is the longest sponsorship contract that Adidas forged in the country.

Defender Hali Long and goalkeeper Inna Palacios also thanked Adidas for sponsoring their kit.

The Filipinas, ranked No. 53 in the world, play world’s No. 32 Wales on February 16, No. 25 Scotland on February 18 and No. 16 Iceland on February 22.
