Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte headed by the Station Commander CG CDR ELAINE R PANGILINAN actively participated in the Response Group Mobilization Drill spearheaded by City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of Surigao City in line with the celebration of the National Disaster Resilience Month 2021 with the theme “Tamang Pamamahala’t Kahandaan, Kaalaman at Pagtutulungan sa Sakuna at Pandemya’y Kalasag ng Bayan” yesterday, 28 July 2021.

The objective of the activity is to assess the capacities and capabilities of the participating agencies particularly their respective operational readiness in terms of responding in any occurrence of emergencies or eventualities.

Furthermore, it also aims to determine aspects of response strategies that needs to be improved for the betterment of services in order to avoid casualties or further injuries from any incidents.
The said activity was also participated by the other members of City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) such as Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Red Cross (PRC), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
CG CDR PANGILINAN emphasized that PCG in Surigao del Norte is committed to continuously support and vigorously cooperate to all the endeavors of Surigao City CDRRMO particularly in one common vision which is to save lives.
