PAYMENT systems operator PayMaya Philippines Inc. announced it plans to add more contact points as digital transactions become widely used in the country because of mobility restrictions.
PayMaya President Shailesh Baidwan was quoted in a statement as saying about 20 “touchpoints”―from stores of Philippine Seven Corp. to branches of the Palawan Pawnshop Inc.―would be added to its network.
He said that more than 55,000 of its touchpoints, representing 60 percent of the total, offer free cash-in services to PayMaya users.
“We are breaking the barriers to digital payments adoption and usage by offering the most extensive cash in channels. With this unparalleled network plus our free cash in offer, we are making it easier for Filipinos to embrace digital payments,” Baidwan said.
He added that users may also cash in to their PayMaya accounts via Instapay.
Currently, PayMaya has over 38 million registered users in its platform, which grants them access to e-wallet services, an in-app mall, and other digital financial services.
