At around 8:30 AM of February 18, 2021, Del Carmen Fire Station Personnel FO1 Gregie Arcular with the direct supervision of SFO1 Riel A Policher OIC, joined the Rescue Operation with the Philippine Coast Guard personnel in favor to the passengers of MB Phillip Mark – 2 passenger boat from Surigao City to Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte. The right portion of outrigger “Katig” of said vessel was unfortunately holed while it was heading to Del Carmen.
The boat captain decided to change their direction to Bucas Grande Island, Surigao Del Norte. All 19 passengers and 5 crews were successfully rescued and transported to Del Carmen.
