Malacañang has declared June 24, 2023, a special nonworking holiday in Manila.

In his Proclamation No. 261 signed last Thursday, Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin said the declaration aims to allow the people  Manila to participate in the celebration of the city’s 452nd Founding Anniversary.

“It is but fitting and proper that the people of City of Manila be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” Bersamin said.

“By authority President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. do hereby declare Saturday, 24, June 2023 a special (non-working) day in the City of Manila,” he added.

The local government unit of Manila will hold a month-long activity for the said celebration, which includes a beauty pageant and a socio-civic parade.
