Pagadian: DA Provides 40,000 Pineapple Suckers To Tambulig Farmers In Zambo Sur


Zamboanga del Sur – The Department of Agriculture IX – High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) provided 40,000 pineapple suckers to the Maya Farmers Association in Tambulig municipality on October 19, 2021.

In a simple ceremony held at the association’s farm area in Barangay Maya-maya, DA9 regional executive director Rad Donn L. Cedeño expressed his hopes and anticipation that the pineapple production in the area would be successful.

Maya Farmers Association president Ms. Vivian Mocoy expressed thanks to the DA and assured that the pineapple will really be planted by the members.

Along side RED Cedeño was ZDS 1st District Representative Divina Grace C. Yu who also reassured the farmers that the government delivers its promises under the President Duterte’s administration. The Congresswoman also thanked Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar for the support given to the farmers in Zamboanga del Sur.

“DA is here to support the farmers in providing what they need in establishing this pineapple farm. With the leadership of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and the responsibility of DA Secretary William D. Dar, helping the farmers to attain #MasaganingAni at #MataasNaKita is our priority,” said RED Cedeño in a separate interview.

Also present to witness the turnover were DA9 HVCDP regional program coordinator Hannibal P. Bayo-ang, Tambulig municipal agriculturist Anecita B. Gealon, Barangay Chairperson Andresa Cortes, and other officers and some members of the Maya Farmers Association.
