Pagadian: DA-BFAR IX women showcase brain, beauty, and brawn as National Women’s Month ends

Region 9 – DA-BFAR IX culminates the National Women’s Month Celebration on March 31, 2022, through the Search for BFAR-IX Queen of Women’s Month 2022. With the theme “WE Make Change Work for Women”, the month-long celebration of women empowerment allowed the Bureau to demonstrate empowering stories behind the strength and excellence of every Juana contributing to the DA-BFAR IX’s success.

The Search for BFAR-IX Queen of Women’s Month 2022 was participated by employees from the bureau with the advocacy “Empowering Women at Work”. The activity aims to promote women’s sense of self-worth, their right to determine their own choices, and their ability to influence social change for themselves and others in the community. The conduct of the event is linked to female empowerment, a basic human right that is essential for a more peaceful and prosperous world.

Ms. Abbie Angela B. Follosco, NSAP Staff won the crown as BFAR-IX Queen of Women’s Month 2022, Ms. Close-up, and Best in Uniform followed by Ms. Jenna-Dhel Francisco, PFO-ZDN Staff as 1st Runner Up, Miss Coca-Cola Body, and Best is Amazona Challenge and Ms. Jaclyn Faith Delacruz, FAD Staff as 2nd Runner Up and Miss Silka Flawless. Other special awards were also given to other participating candidates like Ms. Manilyn M. Tanghal, ORD Staff won as Miss Cream silk and Best in Beauty and Wellness Challenge;  Ms. Maribel C. Angco, FPSSD Staff for Miss Superwoman, and Ms. Ludie Mae K. Portabis for Miss Cali.

According to the Philippine Commission on Women, this year’s campaign focus highlights on women’s participation in battling the pandemic, as well as gender issues heightened by the contagion’s outbreak while the previous year’s campaign is set in the COVID-19 pandemic backdrop, which presented both obstacles and opportunity for women.

The activity was organized under the initiative of DA-BFAR IX GAD through Ms. Erlinda M. Puy, Regional GAD Focal/ OIC-Chief, FMRED together with Ms. Liliosa Paredes, OIC-Chief, FAD with the participation of the board of judges; namely Mr. Ahadulla S. Sajili, Al-Haj former BFAR-IX Regional Director, Ms. Judy Bernardo-Gonzales, WMSU Professor, Ms. Yummyross P. Villaescusa, and Ms. Zandee Roca Tonido both from the business sector.
