Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur – Some 30 farmers in Duelic, Municipality of Midsalip in Zamboanga del Sur attended the DA9 – Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran para sa Kababayang Katutubo (4K) livelihood Training on Free Range Chicken Production on March 8-9, 2022.
Ms May Harap of the DA – Mahayag Livestock and Breeding Center served as the Resource Speaker during the training that discussed different components of Free-Range Native Chicken Production and Management.
According to Juvy Guatno, DA9 4K Focal Person, the activity provided the interested farmers the proper knowledge and skills needed to raise chicken for meat, and/ or egg production. “This can support the livelihood of farmers capacitating them to be able to a small-scale commercial poultry business,” Guatno said.
Likewise, the DA9 4K Team also conducted Profiling and Site Validation in Duelic, to further identify and assess the needs and capabilities of the beneficiaries in the area.
