Pagadian: Blessing and Turnover of Pump Boat held in Barangay Tarakan, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur

    Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur – In a significant move to enhance the 53rd Infantry (MATAPAT) Battalion’s seaborne operational readiness and capabilities, a Blessing and Turnover Ceremony for a pump boat was held in Barangay Tarakan, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur. This event was made possible through collaboration with various stakeholders.

    The ceremony was attended by key officials, including Hon. Victor J. Yu, Governor of Zamboanga del Sur; BGEN ELMER B SUDERIO PA, Commander of the 102nd Brigade, 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division; Hon. Eleazer Asoy, Municipal Mayor of Dinas; LTC ROLANDO E VARGAS JR, Commanding Officer of the 53rd Infantry (MATAPAT) Battalion; PMAJ Jaycel R. Cabarrubia, representing the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Police Office; as well as commanders from the MILF and MNLF and members of the press.

    The pump boat turnover aims to strengthen the 53rd Infantry Battalion’s operational capabilities, particularly in conducting seaborne operations along the coastal municipalities of Zamboanga del Sur.

    This initiative aligns with provincial peace and development efforts by promoting sustainable livelihood programs and addressing the needs of marginalized communities.

    Governor Yu highlighted the importance of such initiatives in improving residents’ quality of life. He emphasized the necessity of ongoing cooperation among local government units, military forces, and community organizations to ensure enduring progress.

    The event highlighted a collective commitment to unity and development within Zamboanga del Sur.
