A total of 3,428 families in areas under lockdown have received food packs as aid.

Since May 1, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) began distributing relief to two (2) cities and 13 municipalities affected by granular lockdowns.

Each food pack contains three (3) kilograms of rice, several canned goods, instant coffee, and noodles, enough to last three (3) to four (4) days in an average-sized household.

“The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte provided these relief aids, as well as the donation we got from Lazada last April 29, 2021.

This is to ensure that our residents who are unable to leave their homes can continue to receive our assistance,” PSWDO Officer, Mrs. Corazon Lilian Rin, said.

She explained that the donations collected by the Provincial Government were equally divided, taking into account the daily food requirement of each household. (Rosita Macalipis, RPN DZRL Batac Correspondent)
