Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City – Another buy-bust operation of PNP Caraga in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 13 yesterday (July 9) resulted in confiscation of ₱ 1,248,440 worth of suspected shabu and arrested three High Value Individual.
Police Regional Office 13 Director, POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M. CARAMAT JR. disclosed that a 30 year old male named Michael Maraon Pacencia also known as Baki, was apprehended by elements of; Station Drug Enforcement Team of Butuan City Police Station 1, Regional Intelligence Division 13, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, City Intelligence Unit-City Drug Enforcement Unit Operatives, Butuan City Mobile Force Company, and Butuan City Police Station 2 in coordination with PDEA RO13 through buy-bust in Purok 8, Salvador Calo Street, Brgy. Obrero, Butuan City.
Confiscated during the operation were 0.3 grams estimated weight of suspected shabu with a standard price of ₱ 3,540, one wallet, one keypad cellular phone and cash money amounting ₱ 1,240.00.
Thereafter, apprehended suspect was turned over to RDEU and RID 13 for simultaneous implementation of search warrant in his residence located at Camella Homes, Butuan City at about 11:55 PM and confiscated an estimated weight of 100.5 grams of suspected shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of ₱ 1,185,900 and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Based on records, Baki was listed as a High Value Individual and a Regional Priority Target who was previously arrested with same violation of Republic Act 9165 last October 6, 2019 but was released sometime on December 2020 through the courts plea bargaining agreement.
Another buy-bust operation was conducted in Hidalgo Village, Purok 10, Brgy. Libertad, Butuan City that led to the apprehension of the 34 year old Ruel Dinata Hubay alias Dan-Dan and the 27 year old Rene Silva Gruyal alias Balong, both residents in Butuan City.
The operatives seized from the suspects were; five grams estimated weight of suspected shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of ₱ 59,000, two cellular phones, ₱ 2,000 worth of cash money, a Honda XRM 125 motorcycle, and other drug paraphernalia.
Both alias Dan-Dan and alias Balong were listed as High Value Individuals and Regional Priority Targets.
“I commend the local police units and drug partner agencies in capturing these drug personalities, as we are keeping our commitment to our countrymen to keep winning in the government’s program against illegal drugs,” RD CARAMAT JR. said.
Arrested suspects will be charged for violation of Section 5, 11 and 12 of Republic Act 9165 known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”.
