OVER the weekend, I was finally able to visit the columbarium where my parents, maternal lola, and an older brother’s ashes are interred, before the expected throngs of people trooped there during the Halloween-All Saints’ Day break. I had been unable to make the short trip during the pandemic lockdown, having become somewhat of a germaphobe, and fearful I would catch the dreaded Covid-19 virus as soon as I stepped out of the house. (Of course, I finally got infected when alert levels dropped, and after a visit to Cebu recently, a story I had shared earlier in this space. Boo!)
