Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – With the unrelenting efforts in the campaign against Communist Terrorist Groups (CTG) to renounce their commitment as revolutionaries, another local communist supporter voluntarily surrendered yesterday, May 19.
The top cop of Police Regional Office 13, Police Brigadier General ROMEO M. CARAMAT JR. was delighted in the surrender of alias “Eman”, 27 years old, male, married, farmer, former Militia ng Bayan Member under Guerilla Front 16-A, North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee.
Through the following series of negotiations, the voluntary surrender was made and assisted by the Intelligence Operatives of Kitcharao Municipal Police Station in coordination with the barangay officials of Barangay Bangayan.
“This happening served as a proof of the government’s combined efforts or the impact of its approach with local peace initiatives showed by the successive influx of surrenderers as well as a message of hope that there is life outside the communist terrorists for the government will always welcome with open arms those returnees to the folds of the law.” RD CARAMAT concluded.
The Militia ng Bayan supporter choose to surrender and expressed his willingness to withdraw from CTG because of the unending broken promises given by them depriving them to live with liberty.
