The Provincial Administrative and Resource Management Unit (POMU) of Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NORPPO) recalled 30 police escorts of different elected and appointed government officials in the province yesterday.
In a statement sent to the media by Police Chief Master Sergeant Edelberto Euroba III, he said that the recent action was due to the ongoing realignment program of the personnel in line with their coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID)-19 response to the most affected areas in Central Visayas.
It is our sensible way of filling the vacuum caused by the earlier recall of the augmented personnel from the Special Action Force, Police Regional Office (PRO)-VI and PRO-VIII by their mother units, Euroba said in the statement.
The 30 escort personnel reported and were accounted at the NORPPO headquarters on Monday afternoon.
NORPPO has been sending augmentation forces to PRO-VII, in support to the unit’s efforts in addressing the pandemic.
Earlier, NORPPO sent 50 policemen to Cebu to help local cops in the enforcement of strict measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 there. (Glazyl Masculino via The Daily Guardian (TDG), photo by TDG)
