Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – After more than four years of hiding, a suspect charged with murder and frustrated murder after he was linked to the shooting incident in Negros Occidental was arrested in Barangay Bayanihan, Butuan City last Monday, May 17.
POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M. CARAMAT JR., Police Regional Office (PRO)13 Director identified the arrested person as: Felizardo G. Paculanang, 40 years old, and resident of Barangay Poblacion, Veruela, Agusan del Sur.
Personnel from the 1304th Mobile Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13 launched the law enforcement operation at the bus terminal around 5:00 PM based on the warrants of arrest issued by the 6th Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court Branch 55, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
His murder charge under criminal case no. 19-4320 is non-bailable while the frustrated murder with criminal case number 19-4319 in relation to Art. 50 RPC (Penalty to be Imposed upon Principals of a Frustrated Crime) and in relation to RA 8369 (Family Courts Act of 1997) has a recommended bail of ₱ 200,000.00.
Paculanang was the suspect in a shooting incident killing Larry Garsola and wounding his daughter Sheila Mae Garsola in Sitio Bulwang, Brgy. Biao, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental last February 2017.
“His apprehension implies that no criminal could hide from the law forever because our operatives with the help of our stakeholders shall go after them and make them accountable for the commission of crimes,” PBGEN. CARAMAT, JR. underscored.
He also added that under the leadership of the PNP Chief PGEN GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR, the police force is doing its best in tracking down wanted persons throughout the country.
