Negros Occidental To Conduct Mass COVID Testing

Bacolod City – The provincial government of Negros Occidental will conduct a mass testing of residents as part of its efforts to stop the spread of COVID 19, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson disclosed yesterday.

Lacson said that they are targeting more than 7,500 Negrenses to be tested., which will start after the filing of certificate of candidacies on October 8.

He added that the Capitol has already talked with the mayors in the province and got their commitment to help.

“We will not implement without the cooperation of the LGU. The shorter the time we finish it, the better”, he said.

Provincial government consultant Alfredo Benitez said that the mass testing aims to “catch those who are asymptomatic.

“We are hoping for a unified approach between the province and the Bacolod City government for us to have a sharing of resources and information,” Benitez said.
