A group of Muslim civic leaders, Muslim Doctors and RPN DXXX Zamboanga joined with security sector in a sustained information drive in the fight against Covid-19 in Zamboanga City.
On Sunday, September 27, 2020, the group went to a masjid in Campo Islam to educate and conduct information dissemination about Covid-19.
The group, aside educating the community about the basic protocols, Muslim clerics is consistent in information campaign that each devotees should bring with their their personal ‘sajada’ or prayer mat in going to masjid to perform prayers. The idea is to avoid touching or getting contact with droplets that may stick on the floor. Sanitation and disinfection is being encouraged by both the clerics and doctors.
The group Al-Risallah Radio Inc., a civic organization, Addhiya Foundation with other sponsors donated materials used in disinfection of the masjid like face mask, alcohol, pail, and mop.
Last Sunday, the group together with PNP, Task Force Zamboanga trooped to Habib Jamalul mosque at Campo Islam. The said mosque was the third masjid the group conducted health and sanitation awareness.
Doctor Rashid Hamis, educated the community on how to properly use face mask, the rationale why one have to use face mask, washing of hands and even how to prepare solution if the community does not have alcohol.
The group vowed to continue the health and sanitation awareness and include security awareness as the threat of terrorist to infiltrate the communities amidst the pandemic.
