The city’s mega isolation facility located at the Zamboanga Economic Zone and Freeport Authority complex in San Ramon, Talisayan is now 90% complete.
City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (CDRRMO) Dr. Elmeir Apolinario reported this during the recent City Hall virtual press briefing, stating that this is a major part of the preparations undertaken by the City Government to address shortage in isolation facilities.
The mega isolation facility will have a capacity of 320 beds.
Apolinario, who is also the chief implementer of the Local TFCOVID-19 said the city is currently undertaking site development as well as looking into the power supply and water requirements.
“As the Local Task Force COVID-19 heightens quarantine restrictions amidst the increasing cases, preparations for isolation facilities and other logistics are also being stepped-up,” Apolinario emphasized.
Meanwhile, other preparations of other isolation facilities are also being finalized as cases continue to soar. (Sheila Covarrubias, photo courtesy CEO)
