MECQ in Cagayan extended until May 7; Consular Office in Tuguegarao to resume regular operations on May 10

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) yesterday said the Province of Cagayan has been advised to maintain its Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) status in accordance with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) from May 23 to May 31, 2021.

The Consular Office in Tuguegarao City (CO Tuguegarao) will maintain a minimum number of employees to render services for the duration of the MECQ until May 31 2021.

The workforce will attend to emergency or urgent cases only, such as medical emergencies or returning OFWs with documents supporting proof of urgency (e.g. medical certificate, employment contract plus valid residence permit or working visa).

CO Tuguegarao will resume its regular operations on Tuesday,June 1, 2021.

Affected applicants with confirmed appointments who are unable to avail of consular services due to the suspension of operations must secure another appointment by emailing CO Tuguegarao ([email protected]) with the following information:

Name

Date of birth

Original appointment date and time

Preferred date and time of new appointment

The new appointment may be on any working day (Monday to Friday) from  June 9, 2021 to July 8, 2021 during the CO’s regular operation hours (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).
