McDonald’s ties up with ONE Esports

ONE Esports, a subsidiary of Group ONE Holdings (ONE), announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with quick-service restaurant giant McDonald’s Philippines to promote esports.

Oliver Rabatan, AVP for marketing and channels, McDonald’s Philippines said the partnership aims boost the brand exposure of the company and a gain bigger foothold in the local gaming community especially with the highly popular Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament.

“McDonald’s Philippines is excited to partner with ONE Esports in the upcoming Mobile Legends Professional League Invitational. With the busy lifestyle of e-gamers, we commit to continuously support the community with convenient access to delicious food anytime, anywhere with McDelivery,” Rabatan said in a statement. 

Aside from McDonald’s Philippines, ONE Esports has also entered into a series of partnerships with insurance company FWD and Marriott International’s award-winning travel program, Marriott Bonvoy.

“I am excited to unveil ONE Esports’ latest strategic partnerships with FWD, Marriott Bonvoy, and McDonald’s Philippines. These partnerships will grow the esports ecosystem, and they reaffirm ONE Esports’ commitment to scale esports globally with the world’s best brands,” Carlos Alimurung, CEO of ONE Esports, said in a statement.

“We are thrilled to have these partners join us in our mission to share and celebrate the stories of esports heroes who ignite the world with strength, hope, dreams, and inspiration.”

Under the partnership with FWD, Alimurung said the insurance firm will sponsor this year’s Mobile Legends Professional League Invitational in Indonesia, where the top teams across Southeast Asia will vie for the plum of being the region’s champion. 

“Our partnership with ONE Esports extends FWD’s vision of changing the way people feel about insurance to the esports community. We’re excited to celebrate living with athletes, teams and fans across the region with stories, behind the scenes footage and curated content,” said Troy Barnes, Group Chief Transformation Officer at FWD Insurance.
