Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City—– As a result of intensified campaign on loose firearm, Caraga police arrested a mayoral candidate and four others during the conduct of separate operations in the region today, May 11 Police Brigadier General GILBERTO DC CRUZ, Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 Director said.
Police Brigadier General Gilberto DC Cruz, Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 Director disclosed that the arrested suspect is Jupiter Abulog, 40 years old, of Brgy. Sta Cruz, Rosario, ADS, and a candidate for mayor of Rosario, Agusan del Sur.
Personnel of CIDG ADSPFU, CIDG RFU 13, Rosario MPS, PMFC 1st Coy, 15SAC, 1SAB-SAF and 1301st Maneuver Coy-RMFB13 implemented Search Warrant issued by Hon. Lou A Nueva, Presiding Judge, RTC 10th Judicial Region, Branch 7, Bayugan City for Violation of RA 10591 dated May 9, 2019 that resulted in the arrest of suspect around 9:30AM today, May 11.
Authorities confiscated six caliber .45 pistols; one caliber .40 pistol; one M16 Rifle; several bullets and magazines of Caliber .45 pistol; magazines and ammunition of Caliber .40; and ammunition of 5.56mm and one magazine of M16 rifle.
In Surigao del Sur, personnel of Tago MPS, SDSPMFC and 36th IB, Bravo Coy, Phil. Army arrested Reynold Sinzo, 29 years old, of Brgy. Unaban, Tago, SDS; Jonalito Tello, 27 years old, of Brgy. Caras-an, Tago, SDS, and Ronald Ruba, 18 years old, of Brgy. Libertad, Butuan City, ADN through hot pursuit operation.
The arrested suspects were reportedly involved in attempted robbery and threatening the life of Brgy. Capt. Hermilyn Silvoza Ugat of Brgy. Anahao Daan, Tago, SDS.
They were cornered by the police at their hideout in, Brgy. Anahao Bag-o, Tago, SDS.
Confiscated from their actual possession were two caliber .45 pistols, four caliber .45 steel magazines, several ammunitions, brown holster, and black sling bag.
Meanwhile, personnel of Madrid MPS and SDSPPO PIB arrested Christopher Sullano, 43 years old, of Barangay Manga, Madrid, Surigao del Sur by virtue of search warrant issued by Hon. Catalina Shineta M. Tare-Palacio, Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, Branch 41, 11th Judicial Region, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur.
Conficated from the suspect were one caliber .45 pistol inserted in a holster; four pcs long aluminum magazine for caliber .45 loaded with ammunition; three M16A1 rifle magazine loaded with ammunition; and one unit ELISCO M16A1 rifle with short aluminum magazine loaded with ammunition.
Arrested suspects will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act.
“Along with our security operations for the upcoming 2019 election in May, We have intensified operations against loose firearms to ensure that unlicensed guns will not be taken into the possession of criminal elements and will be used to intimidate and threat the voters this coming 2019 Midterm Elections,” RD Cruz added. | info.
