Davao City: Mayor Inday Sara Duterte urged Dabawenyos to stay focused and obey the government guidelines covering the fight against the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) — instead of giving attention to statistics.
Mayor Sara said this during her interview over the Davao City Disaster Radio, raising alarm that coronavirus infection in the city is a local transmission because some people who are positive have no travel history to any infected places.
To slow down the transmission of the infection, Mayor Sara urged the public to focus on obeying the guidelines. Otherwise, she said, she will put the city under an Enhanced community Quarantine if people continue to violate the guidelines.
She, however, clarified that the city is not yet under ECQ despite the local transmission. The city is still under community quarantine where preventive measures are in placed to slow down the transmission of the Covid-19 infection.
“Right now we are not under ECQ. In the proper time we will announce when the ECQ will start,” she said.
The Department of Health (DOH) 11 has reported 48 cases in Davao Region. of the number, 40 cases are in Davao City. CIO
