Mayor John Dalipe delivered a comprehensive and compelling State of the City Address (SOCA)

During the 19th regular session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod at the Royce Convention Center of the Grand Astoria Hotel, which was filled to the rafters by people from different backgrounds and institutions.

Dalipe’s second SOCA highlighted the 87th Charter Anniversary of Zamboanga City locally known as Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga.

In his highly applauded two-hour speech, Dalipe took pride in what he termed as the rebirth of Zamboanga City with a robust economic growth fueled by his administration’s unprecedented infrastructure investment, high employment rate and sustained social and health services.

The local chief executive also bannered the New Zamboanga International Airport (NZIA) project with a whooping P2 billion initial budget from the national government through the intercession of District 2 Congressman and Majority Leader Mannix Dalipe.

The amount of P567 million has been paid for the purchase of 231 lots out of the 431 lots affected by the airport project. Dalipe further said that his administration has been doubling efforts to address traffic problems with the opening of new roads, bridges, and the establishment of new free parking facilities in downtown area.
