Margaux Isabelle Batacan of Iriga City won the International Mathematical Olympiad

Margaux Isabelle Bernales BatacanĀ of Barangay San Agustin, Iriga City, won a silver Medal in the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (Final Round) 2023 held in Pattaya City, Thailand.

Margaux Isabelle B. Batacan has also participated and won in several Local and International Mathematical Olympiad such as

  • Silver Award – Guangdong Hongkong-Macao Greater Bay Area Mathematical Olympiad 2022 Heat Round (December 4, 2022)
  • Participation – Bulgaria Math Without Borders 2022 Autumn Round (November 12, 2022)
  • Bronze Award – Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad 2022 Final Round (September 25, 2022)
  • Bronze Award – Hongkong International Mathematical Olympiad 2022 Final Round (August 28, 2022)
  • Silver Award – Hongkong International Mathematical Olympiad 2022 Heat Round (June 4, 2022)
  • Bronze Award – Myanmar Word Star Mathematical Olympiad (April 15, 2022)
  • Bronze Award – Philippines International Mathematical Olympiad 2022 Heat Round (April 9, 2022)

Margaux Isabelle B. Batacan also attribute her winnings in the Mathematical Olympiads to the efforts of her coach Mr. George Jimmy Fraginal, to her parents Engr. Mark Douglas Aguila Batacan and Mrs. Maricar Bernales-Batacan, and also to USANT where she is currently enrolled.

The young mathlete is an epitome of intelligence, grit and resilience of the IrigueƱo students – embodying this Cityā€™s new generation of local talents, whose dedication, hard work and sacrifice are worthy of emulation by Bicolanos, including future generations.
