Man Arrested For Abusing Live-In Partner, Two Others In Caraga Region

Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City – A man who mauled his live-in partner and two other wanted persons were arrested through service of warrant yesterday (May 24) in Caraga region.

Police Regional Office 13 Regional Director Police Brigadier General ROMEO M CARAMAT JR disclosed that Lianga Municipal Police Station and 1st Surigao del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted operation that resulted in the arrest of Romeo Añover De Jesus Jr. alias “JR”, 31 years old, married, inactive AFP personnel and a resident of P-3 Barangay Saint Christine, Lianga, Surigao del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest under Criminal Case Number L-2744 for Violation of RA 9262 or VAWC issued by the Regional Trial Court 11th Judicial Region Branch 28 in Lianga, Surigao del Sur with recommended bail to ₱ 80,000 for his temporary liberty.

Based on investigation, De Jesus mauled his live-in partner due to misunderstanding on April 22, 2014 at their residence.

Meanwhile, another operations were conducted by Marihatag Municipal Police Station (MPS) and arrested alias Zarrah, 31 years old, female, married, and a resident of Purok Kamansi of Barangay Bayan in Marihatag, Surigao del Sur.

The Alias Warrants of Arrest for three counts of Qualified Theft under Criminal Case Numbers RTC-7094, RTC-7098 and RTC-7104 were issued by 10th Judicial Region, Branch 15 in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental with recommended bail for every case at ₱ 24,000.

Marihatag MPS also served the warrants of arrest at their custodial facility to Alias Arlin, 48 years old, married and a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Marcelina in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur for the crime of Qualified Theft docketed under Criminal Case Numbers 6923 and 6924 with bail recommended amounting to ₱ 40.000.00 for each case.

According to police record, alias Arlin had been arrested for the same crime last May 3, 2021.

The region’s top cop, PBGEN. CARAMAT JR., assured the community of the PNP’s continuing efforts to arrest the wanted persons and put them behind bars.

“I am optimistic that with the help and active support of the community, we will sustain the gains against criminality in the region,” he added. (PMaj. Dorothy M. Tumulak)
