LTFRB Caraga partnering with IBP-SDN, Nyer Petron Station, and D Pearl Express formally rolls out the Libreng Sakay Program for Health Workers of CRH and DOH- SDN for Surigao City and Surigao del Norte.
The bayanihan spirit is very much alive in Surigao City amid the national public health emergency brought about by the COVID-19 Pandemic, as the LTFRB Caraga, in partnership with Nyer Petron Station, IBP-Surigao City, and D’ Pearl Express Corp., launched today the Libreng Sakay Program for the health personnel of Caraga Regional Hospital and the participants of the DOH’s Nurse Deployment Program in Surigao City.
Under the said free ride program, there are 4 routes that will be serviced by a total of 6 commuter vans: Claveria, Surigao del Norte to CRH, and vice versa; Alegria, Surigao del Norte to CRH, and vice versa; San Francisco, Surigao del Norte to CRH, and vice versa; and the Surigao City Loop (3 vans).
Five of the six vans were lent for free by D’Pearl Express Corp., a tourist van service operator in the region, while the sixth van was borrowed from Fiscal Joan Frances Esmero.
Meanwhile, fuel for the projected one month operation is sponsored by Nyer Petron Station in Surigao City, while the allowances for the drivers from DATSCO are sponsored by IBP- Surigao City.
The CRH is one of two COVID-19-designated hospitals in Caraga Region.
Last Monday, the LTFRB Caraga also launched a Libreng Sakay Program for Health Workers in Butuan City and Agusan del Norte in coordination with the LGU, Bachelor Express Inc., Davao Metroshuttle Corp, and various private sector donors.
Other similar free ride programs will soon be launched in other provinces in the region.
