Koponang Lakan rip Warriors; Islanders stay hot

BULACAN beat San Pedro Laguna-ARS, 102-69, on Thursday night to extend its winning run to three in the Manila Bankers Life-Pilipinas Super League Pro Division Second Conference Dumper Cup at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Agem Miranda fired 14 points and issued four assists for Bulacan, while Jeric Serrano added 11 points, four rebounds and three assists.

Leo Najorda and Exequil Biteng also had 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Bulacan, which scored a big follow up to a 94-80 whipping of Bicol last Monday and climbed to 6-3 won-lost.

The Warriors failed to sustain the fiery form they showed in a 59-56 victory over Bagong Cabuyao-Homelab Nation last January 18 and slipped to 2-7.

In the other game, the Boracay Islanders waylaid the Spicy Oragons 83-74 for their fifth triumph in a row.

Former pro league star Mac Cardona sizzled with 20 points, to go with five rebounds and five assists for Boracay, while Johnsherick Estrada chipped in 18 and eight points, respectively.

Jaymar Gimpayan, Nathaniel Lopez and former Philippine Basketball Association MVP Jayjay Helterbrand scored 10 points each for the Islanders, who did an encore to an 84-81 decision over the Pampanga G Lanterns last January 21 and hiked their mark to 6-4.

Bicol fell to 2-7.

Mark Doligon paced San Pedro with 24 points and four rebounds, while Eduard Doroteo had 10 points.

Ronnel Guerrero tallied 17 points for the Oragons, while Mark Montuano added 13 markers.

Paulo Castro and King Destacamento got 11 apiece for Bicol.
