THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now working to restore access to three national road sections that are currently closed due to landslide, soil and rock fall brought by the heavy rains of the southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Fabian.

Citing a report from the DPWH Bureau of Maintenance, Public Works Secretary Mark A. Villar said that as of 12 noon Friday, July 23, 2021, temporarily-closed roads include the Kennon Road, K0233+800 in Camp 5, Tuba, Benguet due to rock fall and the Abra-Kalinga Road, K0489+900 in Gacab, Malibcong, Abra due to soil and rock collapse.

The Calapan North Road (CNR) K0058+200-K0058+300 in Barangay Aninuan, Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro is also impassable due to landslide.

Clearing operation of the DPWH Quick Response Team is now ongoing along CNR. Other teams in CAR are on standby to resume clearing affected road sections once weather is deemed safe for the crew and equipment.
