Iniimbestigahan na ng Department of Health (DOH) ang kaso ng isang limang taong gulang na bata mula Wuhan City China na nakitaan ng sintomas ng bago at hindi pa natukoy na corona virus.
Ayon kay Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, agad iniulat sa regional epidemiology ang nabanggit na bata at inirekomendang i-admit sa ospital sa Cebu City.
Nakitaan aniya ito ng mga sintomas tulad ng lagnat, ubo at throat irritation o pangangati ng lalamunan bago dumating ng Pilipinas.
Sinabi ni Duque, kanila nang ipinadala sa laboratoryo sa Australia ang nakuhang sample mula sa batang pasyente matapos na ito’y magpositibo sa non-specific pancoronavirus.
Sa ngayon, patuloy pa ring nakararanas ng ubo ang bata pero nasa stable nang kondisyon.
Samples from the patient was first tested in the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) and yielded negative results for the Middle Eastern respiratory syndrome related corona virus or more often referred to as MERS-CoV and severe acute respiratory syndrome related corona virus or SARS-CoV both are negative, however the samples tested positive for non-specific pancorona virus assay thus the specimen has been sent out to Australia to identify the specific corona virus trait,” ani Duque.
Samantala, binabantayan din ng DOH ang tatlong Chinese national nakitaan din ng mga sintomas ng trangkaso pagdating ng Kalibo International Airport sa Aklan.
Batay sa kanilang datos, sinabi ni Duque na hindi nagtungo ng Wuhan City ang tatlong Chinese at hindi rin nagkaroon ng contact sa mga kumpirmadong kaso ng bagong coronavirus.
Throat samples from these patients were already sent to RITM for testing, all three cases are currently well and are no longer manifesting any symptoms,” ani Duque.
