In a powerful show of unity and commitment to improving the lives of both farmers and consumers, the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO 5) formally launched the KADIWA ng Pangulo (KNP) program at the PRO5 Heroes Shrine in Legazpi City on April 3, 2025. This initiative, which aims to foster a more accessible and sustainable agricultural system, brings together various government agencies to provide affordable, high-quality, and fresh products directly from farmers to the public. Through this partnership, the KADIWA project strives to uplift small farmers, ensure food security, and make essential commodities available to urban and rural communities alike.

The launch of KADIWA ng Pangulo also closely aligns with the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) broader mandate to maintain peace, ensure public safety, and promote the welfare of communities. The PNP’s commitment to securing not just the safety of citizens but also their access to basic needs is crucial in achieving national stability. By supporting the KADIWA initiative, PRO5 emphasizes its role in fostering both law and order and the economic well-being of local communities. The program directly addresses food security and economic challenges while promoting peace through social stability and equitable access to resources.

During the event, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between PRO5 with PBGEN ANDRE P DIZON, RD; Department of Agriculture, Regional Field Office 5, headed by its REGIONAL EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, RODEL P. TORNILLA, National Irrigation Administration, Regional Office V with ENGR. GAUDENCIO M. DE VERA and Albay Provincial Agricultural Office (APAO) with MS. CHERYLL O. REBETA

The MOU outlines the collective effort to enhance the program’s impact and further support the provision of agricultural products to those who need them the most. By facilitating direct access to fresh, safe, and affordable goods, the program aims to address both food security and the livelihood challenges faced by small-scale producers.

With pledges of support from each participating agency, the KADIWA ng Pangulo initiative seeks to create a stable and sustainable market for farmers, while ensuring that consumers receive quality products at fair prices. The partnership signals a new chapter in the government’s commitment to building a “Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas,” where every Filipino family has access to nutritious and affordable food.

In line with the PNP’s mission, this initiative helps ensure that these products are accessible, affordable, and safely delivered to the community, further strengthening the PNP’s role in ensuring not just peace and order, but economic resilience and food security.
