In its sustained campaign against illegal drugs, the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO 5) reported a significant breakthrough with the confiscation of PHP 2,995,866.40 worth of illegal drugs from June 16 to 22, 2025 in the Bicol Region.
A total of 32 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted during the week, resulting in the arrest of 33 drug suspects.
Illegal drugs seized include 438.0980 grams of shabu and 140 grams of dried marijuana leaves.
Among the six provinces in the region, Naga City recorded the largest drug haul, accounting for an estimated PHP 1,945,260.00 worth of confiscated illegal drugs.
The apprehended individuals are now facing appropriate legal charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
These results reflect the dedication of our personnel and the effectiveness of intelligence-driven policing. We will continue to pursue and dismantle drug webs operating in the region. We also call on the public to support us by reporting any suspicious activities in their communities.
PRO 5 urges the public to remain vigilant and to use established communication channels such as E-Sumbong to report drug-related activities and other crimes.
The unit also assures Bicolanos that it will remain steadfast in its mission to uphold peace, security, and a drug-free environment throughout the region. ###
