Iriga: PNP BICOL FULLY SUPPORTS THE ‘KONTRA BIGAY’ CAMPAIGN FOR CLEAN AND HONEST ELECTIONS 2025

    Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City— In response to PRESIDENT FERDINAND R. MARCOS JR.’S mission to ensure a clean, honest, and fair election in May 2025, the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5) is extending its full support to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) campaign, ‘Kontra Bigay.’ Under the leadership of PBGEN ANDRE P. DIZON, PRO5 is committed to implementing measures to combat vote-buying and vote-selling in the region.

    According to PBGEN DIZON, PRO5 will strictly enforce Kontra Bigay 2.0 in the region, aiming to monitor actions considered as vote-buying and vote-selling. This includes the distribution of money, goods, or campaign materials intended to influence voter decisions. “We will not tolerate any form of electoral fraud. Anyone caught violating the law may be arrested immediately, even without a warrant,” he stated.

    Based on Article 12 of the Omnibus Election Code, any person proven guilty of vote-buying or vote-selling may face imprisonment of one to six years. Citizens are encouraged to file complaints at the nearest Kontra Bigay Centers, designated in every city, province, and municipality, or directly at COMELEC offices.

    PBGEN DIZON added, “Our goal is to ensure that the results of the 2025 elections truly reflect the voice of the people. We call on all Bicolanos to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities to guarantee a free and clean election.”

    He further emphasized, “Each vote is a sacred part of our democracy. It should not be sold or bought by anyone. Our vigilance is a crucial step toward a more orderly and prosperous future for all.”
