Iriga: PNP Bicol arrests drug pusher, confiscates P2.7M “shabu” in CamSur

Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City – A 33-year-old high-value male individual was captured during the latest anti-drug operation conducted by the PNP Bicol on July 7, 2024, in Nabua, Camarines Sur. The operation resulted in the seizure of shabu worth PhP 2,720,000.00.

The operation was conducted by joint operatives of the Nabua Municipal Police Station (MPS), the lead unit, and the Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit (PPDEU) of Camarines Sur Provincial Police Office (PPO), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office V (PDEA ROV) at around 5:25 AM.

The suspect, identified by the alias “Ala,” sold shabu to a police poseur-buyer. In his possession and control were eight heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing 400 grams. The arrested individual and the confiscated evidence were brought to the Nabua MPS for proper disposition.

The suspect was informed of his rights, and the documentation and marking of the evidence were conducted in the presence of mandatory witnesses. “Ala” will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

This operation is a testament to the relentless efforts of the Bicol police to apprehend individuals involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in the region. PNP Bicol headed by PBGEN ANDRE P DIZON, RD, in partnership with various government agencies, continues to intensify its anti-drug campaigns by conducting thorough intelligence operations and community outreach programs to educate the public on the dangers of drug abuse. It shall also collaborate with local government units to support drug-dependent rehabilitation programs. The commitment of PNP Bicol to these initiatives aims to create a safer and drug-free environment for all making sure that the fight against illegal drugs is both comprehensive and sustained.
