(Legazpi City, July 27, 2025) The Provincial Government of Albay, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (Pswdo), distributed rice supplies to all LGUs to support flood relief efforts.
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Maria Vivien Cea stated that the supplies would aid LGUs’ ongoing relief operations following severe flooding caused by the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.
With assistance from the Provincial Engineers’ Office and LGUs’ retrieval efforts from NFA warehouses, the distribution was quickly mobilized. Albay Governor Noel Ebriega Rosal highlighted that the supplies are part of the PLGUs’ support to the LGUs’ relief efforts.
“Ining supply ta sa probinsya pantabang man sana ini sa mga LGUs, ang mga LGUs may naka-preposition man sindang mga supplies tigtatawan man sinda or naglalaan man sinda ki pondo which is part of their disaster management—prepositioning of goods,” said the governor.
As of now, 13 LGUs, including Tiwi, Malinao, Tabaco, Malilipot, Sto. Domingo, Bacacay, Legazpi, Daraga, Camalig, Guinobatan, Oas, Ligao, and Pio Duran have each received 50 sacks of rice.
Meanwhile, the remaining 250 sacks of rice will be distributed to five LGUs, specifically the municipalities of Rapu-Rapu, Manito, Jovellar, Polangui, and Libon, on Monday.
