The Provincial Government of Albay (PGA) and the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office V have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to implement the Gulayan sa Bayan Project.

The agreement was formalized during the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) MOA signing and project launch aimed at strengthening food security and combating malnutrition in the province.

According to DA Officer-in-Charge Regional Technical Director for Operations Mary Grace D.P. Rodriguez, beneficiaries received vegetable seeds and gardening tools for use in community gardens.

Rodriguez said the beneficiaries are mostly farmer organizations supported by local government units, which will help establish community gardens using the interventions provided.

Various partner agencies also pledged technical support, with training and capacity-building assistance to be led by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).
