Iriga: DOH Bicol empowers adolescents in Youth Summit for Health in Naga City

The Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development, in collaboration with the Naga City Government through its Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, held the Kabataan in Action: Youth Summit for Health Naga on August 11, 2025.

The major health promotion campaign aimed to strengthen the voice of the youth in advancing health programs across Bicol through engaging discussions, capacity-building activities, and panel forums focused on adolescent health.

In her closing message, DOH Bicol Regional Director Dr. Rosa Maria B. Rempillo highlighted and commended the vital role of the youth as partners in advancing health and well-being within the community.

“I want to take a moment to honor each one of you—not just for being here today, but for taking that first, most important step: showing up and actively participating for your health, your future, and your community,” Dr. Rempillo said.

The event was honored by the presence of esteemed speakers, including Hon. Maria Leonor G. Robredo, Mayor of Naga City; Hon. Jefson Romeo B. Felix, President of the Naga City SK Federation; Hon. Gilda Gayle R. Abonal-Gomez, Naga City Councilor; Dr. Ellaine R. Romano, Medical Officer of Bicol Medical Center; Dr. Pericles Festin, Medical Officer of the Naga City Health Office; and Ms. Ma. Grace Guevara, Medical Technologist of the Naga City Health Office.

Also present were Mr. Rommel F. Valdez of Camarines Sur Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, Ms. Roberta San Buenaventura of Naga City Dangerous Drugs Board, Mr, Renz Robinson Alvaro, Regional Coordinator of Sustained Health Initiatives of the Philippines, and Mr. Richard Hayag, President of Gentlemen Bicol for SRHR Inc.
