DILG 5, headed by Regional Director Atty. Arnaldo E. Escober Jr., CESO V, participates in the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) Regional Technical Working Group last Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Proxy by Oriental Hotel, Legazpi City, Albay.
Working hand in hand with the lead agencies co-led by the Department of Health (DOH) 5 and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 5, the DILG plays a crucial role in building the capacity of LGUs to prioritize nutrition concerns and incorporate them into their long-term programs.
The PMNP is a comprehensive four-year initiative aimed at assisting the Philippine Government in implementing an innovative approach to address nutrition challenges such as stunting among others. The target groups of the PMNP include children below 5 years old, mothers, girls, and other vulnerable groups within households.
Together, these agencies strive to ensure that the PMNP not only addresses immediate nutritional needs of affected sectors but also lays the groundwork for sustained progress in combating malnutrition at the local level.
