Iriga: P5.7M Worth of Illegal Drugs Seized, 35 Arrested in PRO 5 Operations

More than P5 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5) during its weeklong intensified campaign against illegal drugs.

From March 23 to 29, 2026, PRO 5 conducted a total of 29 anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 35 violators. Among those apprehended were three (3) high-value individuals and 32 street-level offenders. Authorities have filed a total of 38 cases against the arrested suspects.

The operations led to the confiscation of 12.80 grams of marijuana and 839.45 grams of shabu, with a combined standard drug price of PhP5,709,796.00.

This accomplishment highlights the unwavering commitment and sustained efforts of the PRO 5 in combating the proliferation of illegal drugs under the PNP Focused Agenda. It underscores the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations, strengthened inter-agency coordination, and active community participation in ensuring public safety across the region.

PBGEN Erosito N Miranda, Regional Director, PRO 5, lauded the operating units for their dedication, vigilance, and professionalism in the conduct of anti-illegal drug operations.

“The success of these operations is a testament to the dedication and courage of our personnel, as well as the strong collaboration between the police and the community. We remain relentless in our campaign against illegal drugs and will continue to intensify our efforts to dismantle drug networks operating in the region,” PBGEN Miranda said.

He further emphasized that PRO 5 will sustain its aggressive stance against both high-value targets and street-level offenders, while ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with the law and with full respect for human rights.

“Let this serve as a strong warning to those who continue to engage in illegal drug activities—PRO 5 will not stop until those responsible are held accountable. We urge the public to remain vigilant and to continue supporting our efforts by reporting any suspicious activities in their communities,” he added.

PRO 5 assures the public that it will continue to strengthen its operational capabilities, enhance intelligence gathering, and deepen partnerships with stakeholders to effectively address the illegal drug problem. ###
