In the immediate aftermath of Super Typhoon “Uwan” (Fung-Wong), City Mayor and CDRRMC Chairperson Rex C. Oliva personally visited the five division clusters of the Incident Management Team (IMT) deployed across Iriga City to assess the on-ground situation and ensure that all affected families in evacuation centers were safe and properly assisted.
Accompanied by CDRRMO Head Jasmin B. Botor, Mayor Rex inspected evacuation sites and led coordination efforts with division heads to evaluate the immediate needs of internally displaced families. He expressed gratitude to the responders, barangay officials, and volunteers for their dedication, emphasizing that their coordinated efforts greatly contributed to the city’s readiness and quick response before and after the typhoon.
During the inspection, the Mayor also joined personnel from the City Engineering Office, CENRO, PNP, BFP, BJMP, Barangay officials and other responders in the clearing of fallen trees and debris that obstructed major roads leading to various barangays.
His hands-on participation in the clearing operation reflected his strong commitment to restoring normalcy and ensuring that all access routes are made passable for relief and emergency operations.
