The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has resolved the looming shortage of security paper being used in the printing of certificates of registration for motor vehicles.

LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said they have started the preparation after monitoring the shortage of security paper as early as August this year.

“Nagpalabas na agad tayo noon ng guideline bilang sagot sa looming shortage ng security paper. Tayo ay nagpapasalamat at hindi na lumala ang problema because of the delivery of the security paper we need,” said Asec. Mendoza.

“Naagapan po natin ang problema sa tulong ng ating DOTr Secretary Jaime J. Bautista at sa ating mga kasamahan dito sa LTO na talagang nag-double time upang maresolba ang problemang ito,” he added.

The delivery was made on Thursday, Nov. 7, and Asec. Mendoza said the number of security papers is sufficient to cover motor vehicle registration and other transactions for a few months.

The LTO was forced to print the certificate of registration for some of its clients due to the shortage.

With the delivery, Asec. Mendoza said he will issue another memorandum for the scheduling of the printing of the bond-paper printed certificate of registration and other documents.

The security paper is expected to be delivered to the LTO regional offices next week.

Asec. Mendoza said LTO-Regional Directors have already been notified to prepare for the printing of those printed on bond paper, including the dissemination of information to their clients.
