The City Government of Iriga, under the leadership of Mayor Rex C. Oliva, actively participated in a Voter Education and Automated Counting Machine (ACM) Demonstration conducted by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).

The day began with a flag-raising ceremony at the Iriga City Sports Center, hosted by the City Accounting Office under the leadership of Mrs. Beverly B. Espiritu. During the ceremony, Mayor Rex congratulated the City Accounting Office and other offices involved for their recent recognition last January 17, where Iriga City’s exemplary compliance in submitting its financial statement for the year ended December 31, 2023, was acknowledged by the Commission on Audit.

Following the ceremony, Election Officer IV Atty. Cinderella F. Ferrera-Lozano and her team from COMELEC Iriga conducted the Voter Education and ACM Demonstration. The activity aimed to prepare voters for the upcoming May 12 National Election by educating them on proper voting procedures and showcasing the use of the automated counting machines. Mayor Rex, Vice Mayor Edsel S. Dimaiwat, and various city employees, had the opportunity to experience voting firsthand using the ACM.

The combined event highlighted the City Government’s commitment to public service excellence and ensuring a well-prepared and informed electorate.
