In a move to safeguard the health and well-being of its personnel, employees of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Bikol received flu vaccines provided by the Department of Health Region 5 through the Bula LGU-Rural Health Unit (RHU) on January 16, 2025.

This initiative, which aligns with ongoing health campaigns to prevent flu outbreaks, highlights the importance of inter-agency collaboration in promoting public health. With flu season approaching, the program aims to reduce the risk of influenza among the workforce, ensuring a healthier organization.

Trained medical professionals from the Bula Rural Health Unit administered the vaccines. BFAR Bikol Regional Director Ariel U. Pioquinto expressed gratitude to the DOH and Bula LGU-RHU for accommodating the agency’s request as part of their shared commitment to employee health. He emphasized that inter-agency collaboration like this fosters meaningful programs that benefit both personnel and the community.
