In an innovative move to further position Camalig as a tourism powerhouse in Albay, LGU-Camalig, in partnership with Converge ICT Solutions and Ravenous Communication, Inc. – Bicol kicked off the installation of 7 new and weather-proof tourism circuit signages across the various tourism sites in the town.

Generously funded by Converge ICT Solutions and Ravenous Communication, Inc. – Bicol, the signages are strategically placed at key locations such as Sumlang Lake, El Miro de Shie Integrated Farm, St. John the Baptist Parish Church and Colonial Houses, Quituinan Hills, Hoyop-hoyopan Cave, Solong Eco Park, and Quitinday Greenhills.

The unveiling ceremony was led by Converge ICT Solutions and Ravenous Communication, Inc. – Bicol CEO, Mr. Tim Ordinario and Camalig Local Chief Executive, Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo, Jr., showcasing a strong partnership between the private sector and LGU-Camalig in enhancing the town’s tourism infrastructure.

Each signage features QR codes that link directly to Google Maps. When scanned, the codes will lead visitors to the next destination on the circuit, detailing information on travel times, routes, and other important information, providing visitors with seamless navigation and detailed information about the sites.

Notably, the said project is the first of its kind not only in Albay but in the entire Bicol Region, setting a “leveled-up” and new standard for smart tourism in the town, and making Camalig’s tourist attractions more accessible and informative, with the end goal of further boosting local tourism and economic growth.
