Iriga: Iriga City Police Conducts 5-Minute Response Time Simulation Exercise

    In line with the Philippine National Police’s implementation of the 5-Minute Response Time (5-MRT) commitment, Iriga City Police conducted the 911-5-minute response time strategy simulation exercise today, August 13, 2025, at the Iriga City Police station.

    Following the Briefing and Presentation of the 5-MRT program by PLTCOL Jeric Don P. Sadia, Officer-in-Charge of Iriga City Police station, who also led the Simulation Exercise showing the real time testing in utilizing the 911 hotline. Barangay San Miguel, San Juan, San Isidro and Brgy. Sta. Maria were among the communities tested for the quick response strategy demonstrating the efficiency of the program and showcasing the swift action of the designated responding unit in the reported area of incident.

    Mayor Rex C. Oliva who personally witnessed the exercise, praised the rapid response and well-coordinated efforts under the 5-Minute Response Time (5-MRT), and reaffirmed the full support of the city government in the initiatives of the Iriga police to act swiftly in responding to distress calls to ensure the public of safety and the preparedness of the police in addressing emergency concerns and incidents at all times.

    In a bid to show the city government’s support to the program, Mayor Rex also vowed to provide additional motorcycles and mobile unit to augment the logistical needs of the station in their implementation of the five-minute response time.

    The simulation exercise was also witnessed by Camarines Sur Police Provincial Director PCOL VIRGILIO OLALIA JR. and City Vice Mayor Edsel Dimaiwat. Engr. Solomon C. Ngo, Vice-Chairperson of the City Advisory Group, was also present and committed to provide mobile radio for the police force as a gesture of full support in the program’s real-time efficiency. Also present to grace and witness the exercise via Zoom is PNP Regional Director, PBGEN NESTOR C BABAGAY JR.

    Under the 5-Minute Response Time (5-MRT), emergency incidents are reported via PNP’s 911 hotline and the designated police personnel shall be dispatched to respond to the emergency/incident within 5 minutes after the call.

    The 5-Minute Response Time (5-MRT) is an initiative of the Philippine National Police, with the Department of Interior and Local Government, designed to further enhance police assistance and assure the public of PNP’s dependability, availability and preparedness as law enforcers and crime busters.
