Following the weekend’s typhoon, employees at Iriga City Hall gathered for a lively flag raising led by the General Services Office (GSO) under Atty. Maharlika Ramon C. Oaferina II. Staff from different departments joined in, showing teamwork and city pride, while the ceremony highlighted the GSO’s key role in keeping city operations running smoothly.

Mrs. Lourdes I. Badiola, Supervising Administrative Officer of the GSO, introduced the office’s personnel and shared an overview of its services, emphasizing their commitment to responsive and efficient public service.

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO), headed by Engr. Cynthia D. Audal, also took the opportunity to announce upcoming local and special recruitment activities. These initiatives aim to expand employment opportunities for Irigueños, both locally and abroad, reflecting the city’s ongoing support for workforce development and livelihood programs.

Mayor Rex C. Oliva spoke about the city’s growth and the GSO’s crucial role in managing its resources. He shared that the office now oversees a total of 54 city vehicles, following the recent delivery of a close van and a new coaster, in addition to its responsibility over government buildings. He also noted that several major infrastructure projects currently under construction, including the City Hospital, the five-storey multipurpose building, the technical building, and CBD 2 beside the City Terminal, will fall under the GSO once completed. The mayor praised the office for its dedication to maintaining these assets and supporting the city’s development.

Through events like today’s ceremony and PESO’s recruitment initiatives, the City Government of Iriga continues to create opportunities for its residents while strengthening collaboration across offices.
