The spirit of Arriba Iriga roared through the Bicol University Athletic Oval as the City Government, in a powerful display of “Full Force” support, joined the grand opening ceremonies of Palarong Bicol 2026 in Daraga, Albay.
Leading the charge for the Iriga City contingent was Mayor Rex C. Oliva, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Ms. Maria-Magnolia F. Brioso, OIC-Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Iriga City, and other dedicated officials of DepEd SDO-Iriga City. They were joined by Vice Mayor Edsel S. Dimaiwat, City Administrator Atty. Maharlika Ramon C. Oaferina II, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, and various department heads, all present to ignite the fire of our local champions.
This year, a formidable delegation of 401 Irigueño student-athletes is set to represent the city, competing across 22 different sporting events and the Para Games. Their presence on the regional stage is a testament to the city’s unwavering commitment to youth development and its strong partnership with the Department of Education.
The overwhelming support from the city leadership reaffirms that these athletes are not competing alone—the entire City of Iriga stands behind them. As the games officially begin, we wish our 401 delegates the best of luck. Show the region the heart, discipline, and excellence that define a true Irigueño champion!
