LEGAZPI CITY — The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office V – Bicol Region, in coordination with the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) Region V, led a critical inter-agency coordination meeting today, November 9, 2025 for preparedness and response protocol.
The gathering brought together key stakeholders from the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) member agency, together with the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Army, and Philippine Coast Guard.
The focus of the meeting centered on strategic prepositioning of assets and immediate resource augmentation for local government units (LGUs) across the five Bicol provinces.
With the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. that no one should be left behind during calamities, Secretary Rex Gatchalian instructs all field offices to be on full alert. Through the leadership of RD Laurio, the agency ensures the inventory and prepositioning of relief goods. DSWD Bicol confirmed the readiness of 189, 808 Family Food Packs (FFPs) and 20, 306 Non-Food items strategically positioned across its regional and provincial warehouses.
