Iriga: DRONE OPERATIONS, HANDLING TRAINING HELD

To enhance the drone operations and handling skills of personnel from the regional and field offices of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) V, a three-day Comprehensive Aerial Drone Training was conducted on April 14-16, 2025 at DENR V Hamada Hall, Rawis, Legazpi City.

Business Development Manager and Lidar Specialist Mr. Jhon Arvhee Sarsaba of Rasa Surveying and Instruments served as the resource speaker to deepen the capabilities and expertise of the participants that will be utilized in tracking seedling survival and monitor the status of plantation sites across the region.

In his message, DENR V Regional Executive Director (RED) Francisco E. Milla Jr. highlighted the relevance of the conduct of this training. “Napaka relevant and timely ng training na ito because we are empowering you all to be tech-savvy guardians of our forests by equipping you with the skills and technology needed to monitor vast reforestation areas, detect threats, and make data-driven decisions,” he said. “It is important to take note that in order to scale up our efforts, we must also level up our methods. We must be smarter, faster, and more accurate in how we monitor our forests and protect what we plant,” RED Milla added.

The DENR V continues to strengthen its efforts to improve its technological capabilities to provide a more efficient and accurate service to strengthen land forest management.
